Send Journalist Rania Khalek To Cover The Democratic National Convention

Bernie Sanders and his campaign will take the fight against Democratic Party establishment politics all the way to Philadelphia, and we believe it is important to have a journalist there to capture aspects that will not be covered by corporate media.

On the Sunday before the convention, civil disobedience and direct actions are planned but are unlikely to get meaningful media attention. We want to send Rania Khalek to cover it all.

Shadowproof is sending Rania to report on the convention and provide eyewitness accounts. But we need your support to fund her reporting.

Can you please donate $20 or more to send Rania Khalek to Philadelphia to cover the battle against establishment politics at the Democratic National Convention?

Based on the 2016 election coverage we’ve seen so far, we know what gets shown on TV is only a small, and often distorted telling of what is actually happening on the ground. The press will report thrown chairs at state conventions, even when there is zero evidence.

The Sanders campaign is geared up for a showdown over the Democratic Party platform. While largely symbolic, this struggle over what is in the platform will expose a lot of truth about where Democrats truly stand.

Rania has earned her place as a well-respected reporter on Israel’s apartheid policies against the Palestinian people—an issue that the Sanders campaign is expected to fight over during the platform process. In addition to hosting the Unauthorized Disclosure podcast with me, she recently reported on the Clinton campaign’s courting of neoconservatives for The Intercept.

We want Rania there to amplify the voices of people, who witness the Democratic Party’s efforts to stifle movements for social, economic, racial, and environmental justice. She will be at the forefront of debunking misleading narratives fueled by the establishment press and Democratic elites.

With your help, Shadowproof can continue to tirelessly fill the gaps in coverage of the 2016 primary to expose the various ways in which the media and Democratic Party have worked to curtail debate, subvert the will of voters and hand Hillary Clinton the nomination.

During her time in Philadelphia, I will assist Rania in her coverage to provide the most comprehensive look into what develops inside and outside the convention.

Please donate $10 or more to send Rania Khalek to Philadelphia to cover the Democratic National Convention.
