PPIC POLL: 50% of CA Voters Support Marriage Equality

A brand new poll (pdf) from the Public Policy Institute of California shows majority support for marriage equality for the first time with 50% of Californians supporting marriage for same-sex couples while 45% oppose equality under the law. Referendum 71: Mathematical Certainty of Victory

The latest tallies on Referendum 71 from the Washington State Secretary of State election results page show that the good guys are ahead 593,956 (51.65%) Approve to 556,090 (48.35%) Reject with 394,282 ballots still to be counted! However, mathematically there is almost no chance that Referendum 71 will be rejected

  Marc Solomon, the Executive Director of MassEquality has accepted a position as Marriage Director at Equality California. Solomon headed the organization when it went from a small statewide organization with a budget of less than a half-million dollars to its current budget of over 3 million dollars.
