Shadowproof is launching a new series of live events.
On Tuesday, February 9 at 7 pm EST, Kevin Gosztola will host an event with Project Censored directors Mickey Huff and Andy Lee Roth about the organization and its annual report on the most important stories of the past year that were overlooked or went ignored by establishment media.
Huff and Roth argue, “An accurate understanding of U.S. news media requires a broader definition of censorship—one that goes beyond the conventional focus on either direct government control or simple editorial ‘gate keeping’ of news content; in this view, censorship should be understood more subtly as ‘a form of propaganda.'”
For more than twenty years, Project Censored has been compiling “Censored” stories of the past year to challenge “junk food news,” media consolidation, and other critical issues in journalism. Walter Cronkite once said, “Project Censored is one of the organizations that we should listen to, to be assured that our newspapers and our broadcasting outlets are practicing thorough and ethical journalism.”
We’re looking forward to this engaging live event. You can join the conversation tomorrow for free: Just RSVP for tomorrow’s chat or any of our other upcoming events.
