Assange claims the Russians are playing nice with Snowden and not trying to pry information from him. This strikes me as entirely reasonable–-if Snowden was one of literally thousands of admin with access to the same information it’s probably safe to assume that the Russians already knew essentially everything Snowden

Military Judge Announces Rationale Behind Verdict in Bradley Manning’s Trial

The military judge in the trial of Pfc. Bradley Manning has released “special findings,” which were requested by the defense, on how she arrived at a guilty verdict for the offenses Manning was convicted of committing.

Manning was convicted of six violations of the Espionage Act. The military prosecutors had to prove that the information he released to WikiLeaks had been classified, that he had reason to believe the information was classified, that disclosure of the material “would be potentially damaging to the United States or might be useful to an enemy of the United States.”

Sentencing Phase of Bradley Manning’s Trial, Day 12 (Live Updates)

The trial of Pfc. Bradley Manning is set to continue this afternoon with the government indicating whether it will put on a rebuttal to the defense’s sentencing case or not.
