Thank you so much for joining our day of action for John Kiriakou on Friday, May 9th in Washington, DC. You will be visiting a select group of congressmen and senators to request that they contact the Bureau of Prisons to immediately move John to a halfway house near his family.

Please be on time as we have a lot of offices to visit that day! John’s wonderful cousin Clifford will be waiting for you inside and will be leading the group.

We recommend wearing comfortable walking clothes/shoes and bringing a bottle of water and/or a small snack. There will be a brief break for lunch. You do not need to dress formally, but please dress respectfully.

Here’s how the day will go:

• Once the group has gathered, Clifford will lead everyone to the Russell Senate Office Building for the first visits of the day. (Here’s a map of the route we’re taking)
• After Russell, the group will move to visit senate offices in Dirksen and Hart, then visit house offices in Cannon and Rayburn.
• At each office, Clifford will introduce the group and explain why you are all there. We will provide pictures of John and the family for the group to hold.
• At the end of the visit, the group will leave behind an information packet we have created that will give the congressman or senator details on how to contact BOP

Please be advised that this is not a protest; we are hoping to form partnerships with these members of congress. By appearing as a solemn group at each office, we will demonstrate that John has a serious bipartisan community of support behind him.
