On the heels of her wife Tammy Lynne Michaels’ blog about Rick Warren Melissa Etheridge posted her feeling about Pastor Rick on HuffPo
After explaining some background about her preconception, Etheridge eloquently describes her phone conversation with Warren:
He explained in very thoughtful words that as a Christian he believed in equal rights for everyone. He believed every loving relationship should have equal protection. He struggled with proposition 8 because he didn’t want to see marriage redefined as anything other than between a man and a woman. He said he regretted his choice of words in his video message to his congregation about proposition 8 when he mentioned pedophiles and those who commit incest.
As far as fund raising goes, it was a shoe-in: Chicago radio station WGN’s John Williams and his sidekick Dan Deibert set up a life sized cardboard cut out of Ron Blagojevich outside their studio on Michigan Ave with a box of old shoes and lured passers-by to try their hand at a “Pay to Play” three-for-a-dollar shoe toss.
The event raised some cash for the WGN Radio Neediest Kids Fund.

Ooooh, somebody’s in trouble in the Alaska governor’s office. Well, actually pretty much everyone’s in trouble at the Palins, especially after Gram Johnson got caught with the Oxy-unclean.
Hey, why hasn’t Bristol had her junior goalie yet, or is the blessed event being held off for Xmas to prove a point? Pro tip–doubtful Bristol’s a virgin.
So, it’s come out that Palin dissed out national treasure Poppy Bush, or in that classic boss dodge, “Never got the message.” Former Prez Bush, George 41, called Palin’s office to congratulate her for getting the VP nod.
Tammy Lynne & Melissa
Tammy Lynne Michaels, Melissa’s Etheridge’s wife, wrote a blog which makes me cringe, and not because she misspelled yamaka either. In the LGBTQ+A world I fall into the A (ally) position, so I can’t speak as someone whose rights are denied. And sometimes I will probably make an ass out of myself while trying to say the right thing…but oh sweet raptor baby Jesus and his mama, wtf was Tammy Lynne thinking?
In her blog, reposted on Good As You, Tammy Lynne writes:
i’m starting to think that there are indeed some people…
Today I’m the guest on Drivetime With Dave Fanning, a popular Irish radio show, discussing the looming Screen Actors Guild strike. The segment airs in a just a few minutes West Coast time, and hopefully will be archived. I have mixed emotions about the strike: I think the actors’ demands
Matt Corely at Think Progress brought up a chilling historical parallel: When asked by David Frost if there are certain situations in which the president can decide that it’s in the best interests of the nation or something, and do something illegal former President Richard Nixon claimed that: When the
The trial of shoe-throwing Iraqi journalist Muntazer al-Zaidi, charged with assaulting a foreign head of state visiting Iraq, begins December 31.
