Today is the last day to register to vote in Oregon – are you sure you’re registered at your current address?
Just Say Now is rolling out a huge Get Out The Vote effort that will contact tens of thousands of voters between now and Election Day. To pull it off, we need to raise $40,000 over the next week. I recorded a video to tell you about our plans to pass marijuana reform in 4 states in November. Check out the video, and then chip in $25 to help us Get Out the Vote for marijuana.
Stephen Colbert picked up on a theme that Just Say Now has been pushing for some time: that marijuana legalization in California in Prop 19 is more popular than any other candidate on the state ballot.
Colbert had a great segment last night about Prop 19, featuring an addiction drug warrior named Joseph Califano and former Governor of New Mexico and legalization advocate Gary Johnson.
One of the first stories Peter Wallsten broke at the Wall Street Journal was Rahm Emanuel’s “f%#king r%!*ards” crack, which earned him both a Sarah Palin Facebook post and one of the best Saturday Night Live sketches of all times (video above). Today he picks up on the work Jon
Good news for Oregon’s Measure 74, a ballot initiative that will regulate medical marijuana supplies in the state: the Democratic Party of Oregon gave its endorsement to the medical marijuana measure. This is big news for Measure 74, which if passed, would create nonprofit clinics like pharmacies to supply marijuana to patients. While Oregon has had medical marijuana since 1998, patients have had to either grow their own or have someone else grow for them. With Measure 74, patients with have better, safer access to medical marijuana in a regulated system.
Thanks to Progressive Reform of Oregon, we have an exciting new ad that explains Measure 74 and endorses it as well. Hope you enjoy this; it defines Measure 74 in positive ways, especially for voters (like me!) who don’t really understand it. Thanks to Pro-Oregon for putting it together.
Vote YES on 74!
Attention Arizona: today is your last chance to register to vote if you want to help pass Prop 203 and bring medical marijuana to your state. As of 11:59pm tonight, if you’re not registered to vote at your current address, you can’t vote on November 2. Click here to register to vote online in Arizona.
The Just Say Now campaign is reaching campuses nation-wide, and the state University of West Virginia is making their presence known by holding a forum to inform the public.

This morning, Just Say Now is proud to announce a new tool to put marijuana reform directly in the hands of activists: online phone banking to identify supporters of marijuana reform before November’s election.
There are thousands of voters in Arizona, California, Oregon, and South Dakota who we need to vote for marijuana reforms. We’re targeting calls to young voters and “surge voters” – people who turned out in 2008 but who are not yet likely to vote in the midterm elections.
