Signature/Forms: | Candidate Forms for Federal Office
US Sen: Certificate of Candidate Qualification; Declaration of Candidacy; Receipt for Payment of Primary filing fee; Statement of Number of Petition signatures; Petitions containing at least the number of signatures required, including at least 400 from each of Virginia’s 11 congressional districts, must be filed together with the Declaration of Candidacy. Petitions must contain the signatures of at least 10,000 qualified voters of the Commonwealth.
The State Board recommends that 15,000 – 20,000 signatures be obtained with at least 700 signatures from each congressional district to assure that enough signers are qualified voters.
US REP: Declaration of Candidacy; Petitions of Qualified Voters; Receipt for Payment of Primary filing fee; Certificate of Candidate qualification; Petitions containing at least 1,000 signatures of qualified voters in the congressional district must be filed together with the Declaration of Candidacy. The State Board recommends that a candidate get at least half again (1,500) the number of signatures required to assure that enough signers are qualified voters. |
