An inhabitant of the state at the time of the election and a qualified elector (registered voter) of the State of Mississippi in the district, county, or county district of the office for which the candidate seeks election.

Federal Offices: Partisan – (1) Qualifying Statement of Intent; (2) Qualifying Fee

Independent – (1) Certified Petition with Signatures; (2) Qualifying Statement of Intent

Party candidates for Federal offices must file their qualifying papers (Statement of Intent and Qualifying Fee) with the appropriate State Party.
