Weekly Pulse: Obama Suspends All Last-Minute Bush Regulations, Pending Review

Yesterday, Barack Obama took the Oath of Office and promptly froze all eleventh-hour Bush regulations, pending a full review. Which means that the notorious “conscience clause” rules–which exempt federal employees from participating in abortions on religious grounds–are dead. Obama’s appointee at HHS will never approve them.

Obama is also expected to swiftly overturn the Global Gag Rule which cuts off international health groups from all federal funding if they provide abortions, or even discuss abortion as an option.
