Real Questions to ask Rush Limbaugh

Chris Wallace asked us to pose some questions for Rush for his appearance this Sunday on Fox. I created some real questions I would ask Rush Limbaugh based on Sex, Drugs and Money. The big three of celebrity journalism.

Turning the Financial Bullies Loose on the Media Bullies: The Spocko Way

Now is the time to write a couple of News Corp Institutional Investors and ask them if they are fine with Rupert’s strategy of losing money on Glenn Beck and setting up the network for possibly losing broadcast licenses because of their incitement of violence.
I’ve got some suggestions for questions right here. I’d advise ya to keep reading.

Where are the defamation lawsuits for Hannity and Limbaugh?

I think the time has come for the right wing media to pay the financial price for their slander. It would send a message, and financial messages are the only ones the right-wing media hear. We can say it’s not about the money, it’s the principle, but it’s really about the money. When someone files one or more, we can help the process by challenging the conventional wisdom that every one is fair game for right-wing media. We can also challenge the main stream media to cut the right-wing media loose and suggest they stop defending them as if they were journalists.

How to Kick Tea Bagging Sponsors in the Wallet And Mess up their Media Coverage

Did you ever want to mess with the right-wing at town halls or tea parties? Do you wish the media would cover what loons they are instead of treating them like mainstream serious people? I explain what you can do before their next event in your home town to flip or blunt their message. I describe how I threw a Vulcan space spanner into the media coverage of KSFO’s San Francisco faux town hall. You CAN reverse the polarity of their narrative. Read on!

Radio Industry Honors Host Who Calls for Massacre of Iraqis

Today the Bay Area Radio Broadcasting Hall of Fame honored Lee Rodgers, from KSFO. He’s called for the massacre of everyone in Iraqi, the death of millions of innocent Muslims and of his political opponents. His bigotry and calls for death of liberals, politicians, Muslims and Iraqis are supported by management and now by the Bay Area Radio industry. I question their role in the growing violence rhetoric that has already lead to deaths, most recently with a Census Bureau worker.

Will Citadel be Financial Liable for Town Hall Mobs Organized by Their Radio Hosts?

If the violence breaks out because of the mob gathered by a right wing talk radio host, who will be financially liable? KSFO host Brian Sussman is gathering “thousands” to a faux Town Hall Meeting Friday Aug 14 at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco from 1-5pm.
He has been whipping up the fear and anger for a week. If this call to action results in violence will Citadel Broadcasting pay damages?

I pose these questions to the COO of Citadel Broadcasting and copy the SF District Attorney and FCC commissioner Copps.

KSFO Loses Two More Advertisers because of Anti-Gay Rights Comments

Last week Beach Blanket Babylon and LifetimeTV agreed to stop advertising on KSFO.

The removal of their ads was prompted by letters that I sent at the end of July. I documented the host’s verbal attacks on gay rights activists. I also documented how the host Brian Sussman actively works to deny gays equal rights. In addition, in my LifetimeTV letter, I pointed out the history of violent rhetoric from the various hosts that were directed toward liberal women.

The advertisers sent a message back to the station. We will not financially support this kind of talk.

ABC Radio Host Wants Full-Frontal Nudity from Bush Press Sec. Dana Perino

Two radio hosts from KSFO and a Wall Street Journal Reporter demonstrate their profound lack of respect for professional women. They are not “shock jocks”, but the hosts of the top conservative political talk radio station in San Francisco. In the post-Palin era is this acceptable to the California Republican party, national conservatives and the mainstream commercial sponsors?

Using actual audio clips I invite you to listen to these men and wonder how the comments below would be treated if made by any other executive in a corporation with a modern HR department. Do media companies like ABC Radio and Citadel Broadcasting get to live by a different set of HR rules?

“Regulation is always bad for business”

Think-tankers are WRONG about the need for regulation and they know it, but that doesn’t stop them from pushing. Suggesting that regulation is a good for business usually brings up a knee jerk reaction in conservatives. “Ack! Regulation is always bad for business! Deregulation is better. If deregulation fails it is because it wasn’t done right.” Or, to paraphrase Digby on conservatism, “Deregulation can never fail, it can only be failed.”
