The Last Late Late Night FDL: When The Music’s Over

The DoorsWhen The Music’s Over, live in Copenhagen, 1968.

What a long strange trip its been, eh? I’m so thankful to Jane for allowing me to host Late Night/Late Late Night lo these past many years. I’d also like to thank Tut for stepping up and hosting so I didn’t have to host every night. Thanks dood!!! I can’t forget RBG, Lurk, Ellie, Dakine, EG, and the rest of the backstage crew who toiled so hard behind the scenes to make these front page posts look effortless. Finally, I want to thank you, the lurkers and commenters, for everything — welcoming me, encouraging me, sharing your weather and music, the ups and downs of your lives, and making LLN what it was. I will always treasure the memories and friendships we’ve created here on the dark side of the Lake.

For those wanting to stay in touch, you can friend me on Facebook and/or follow me on Twitter.

Please join me in sharing memories, puns, music, Muppets, and cartoons in the comments tonight — our last night should be a celebration of life and not a funeral dirge.

I’m up on Mt. St. Helens today (!) and should be home before this publishes. In case I am not, Tut has agreed to sit in as host until I’m able to dive in.

Thank you … thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. Thank you.

When the music’s over
When the music’s over
When the music’s over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights

For the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend
Until the end
Until the end
Until the end

For the last time, what’s on your mind?

I am a host of Late Late Night FDL music and cartoon posts in addition to spending most evenings behind the FDL backstage curtain flipping levers. Used to be a practicing heterosexual but now it appears that I am just a consultant. Avid reader since teaching myself how to read when four. Navy brat and first born so always thinking of the consequences. Double Irish so I usually got caught. Turned my misspent youth around and became that scary thing in your rear view mirror. Retired from the Fremont (California) Police Department after 24 years of sworn and non-sworn duties, including Patrol and the Crimes Against Persons Unit. Currently living on the North Oregon Coast with Token, cutest dog in the world (10 lb category), where I enjoy taking non-crime scene photographs, writing at my own blog, TwoTonGreenBlog, and working backstage at Firedoglake.
