Late Night FDL: Sugar Mama

Led Zeppelin – Sugar Mama

Led Zep has just released a previously unreleased track…

Led Zeppelin are premiering an unreleased 1968 track, “Sugar Mama”, as preview to the July 31 release of the expanded reissue of their 1982 album, “Coda.”

The blues jam was recorded at Olympic Studios in London during sessions for the band’s self-titled debut. “Coda” originally presented 8 unreleased tracks recorded between 1970 and 1978.

The reissue features two companion discs featuring 15 tracks recorded between 1968 and 1974, including 1968’s “Baby Come On Home” and “Sugar Mama”; an early version of “When The Levee Breaks” from 1970 titled “If It Keeps On Raining”; rough mixes of “The Wanton Song” and “In The Light” from the “Physical Graffiti” sessions; and, an instrumental 1970 mix of “Poor Tom” and the previously unreleased instrumental “St. Tristan’s Sword.”

The set also presents “Friends” and “Four Hands” (“Four Sticks” from “Led Zeppelin IV”), two tracks recorded during a 1972 trip to India by Page and Robert Plant that saw the pair perform with the Bombay Orchestra.

What’s on your mind tonite…?

I saw Led Zep at an outdoor show with a few hundred people attending that night. it was August ’69.

good show, but Bonham was so drunk and stoned that he fell off his seat and flat on his back, which is about impossible to do while drumming.

In notable MENA news… Good Gawd no…! The Saudis are ready to go nuclear

The kingdom’s ambassador to London tells the Telegraph that ‘all options are
on the table’ if talks fail to keep Iran in check

In secret visit, CIA chief said to brief Netanyahu on Iran

John Brennan discussed emerging nuclear deal with Israeli officials in high-stakes powwow last week, report says; US Chief of Staff Dempsey also in Israel

*heh* So much for our much-vaunted training program, eh…? US training base in Iraq hasn’t seen a new recruit in weeks

you think that it’s something that’s not in keeping with the Germanic mainstream?
the Germans have been keepers of detailed and extensive records since the rise of modern Germany in the 19th century.
