Late Night FDL: One Way Out

Gregg Allman – One Way Out

Gregg is set to release his new solo album, Live: Back To Macon, GA, in August…

Gregg Allman has released a live version of One Way Out in a video clip.

It’s taken from upcoming release Live: Back To Macon, GA, recorded with his eight-piece solo band, to be launched on August 7.

Rounder Records say of the title: “Allman has long been a gifted, natural interpreter of the blues – his soulful and distinctive voice is one of the defining sounds in the history of American music.

“Live: Back to Macon, GA marks his first-ever official solo DVD release where he delivers ferociously high-energy and emotive performances.” The DVD includes additional interviews and a documentary feature.

Allman, who wound down the Allman Brothers Band in 2014 after a 45-year career, appears at the inaugural Ramblin’ Man Fair at Mote Park, Kent, on July 25-26.

What’s on your mind tonite…?

Light. We rarely get really hard rains here. And it’s looks to be moving fairly quickly so local flooding unlikely except in maybe some low areas with poor drainage.

I think “high ground” around here is some 30 feet above sea level. Not really a problem … it’s the creeks and rivers over-flowing (as in Houston) that causes problems. Ours are staying within their banks, so far.

    That’s a complicated stat, CT.

You can’t really compare privatized oil-asset-stripping companies, like Exxon, to NOCs (national oil companies).

China is already the largest. And, after the US toppled Ukraine’s democratically-elected government, Russia and China signed the largest gas/oil deal in world history — and activated the brilliant future of Eurasia.

Ninety-three percent of all the oil pumped in the world is pumped by NOCs, is nationalized, and its profits are owned by the people (for example, Norway’s oil profits fund their vast social security system).

Only the American Colonists do NOT own their national resources, which are asset-stripped by robber barons, and privately owned. USians have to buy their oil on the global commodity market and pay full price. They get NO discount on oil pumped in the US.

    (That would be socialism.)

back in the 1930s we used to think that construction work improving the infrastructure was not only important but also a great way to get the unemployed a paycheck.

we built a whole lot of bridges roads and turned a whole lot of urban wasteland into parks.

we stopped doing more than minimal upkeep on most things a while back.

” The Defense Intelligence Agency’s correct assessment of where things were going in Syria, done in 2012, doesn’t say that the US created sectarian groups and it does not say that the US favors al-Qaeda in Syria or the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq.” It says that those powers (e.g. Turkey and the Gulf monarchies) supporting the opposition wanted to see the declaration of a Salafi (hard line Sunni) breakaway statelet, in order to put pressure on the al-Assad regime.

It doesn’t say they wanted to see a Daesh (ISIS, ISIL) state.

It doesn’t say the US or “the West” wanted to see such a thing (the US wouldn’t be included in the “powers” supporting al-Qaeda-linked groups! — especially by the DIA!)”

    from AP

Hamas official says unknown Gaza militants fire rocket at Israel; no casualties reported

” GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes in the Gaza Strip early Wednesday just hours after a rocket was fired at southern Israel, an Israeli military spokesman said.

Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said the airstrikes targeted “four terror infrastructures” in the southern Gaza Strip.

The airstrikes were in response to an attack Tuesday night in which a rocket was launched at Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, Lerner said. The rocket hit an open area in the Lakhish regional council, and no injuries were reported, he said. Sirens wailed in several southern Israeli communities at the time of the attack.”

.There were these two guys in a lunatic asylum….and one night they decide that they don’t like living in the asylum and decide to escape. So, like, they get up onto the roof, and there, just across this narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in the moonlight…stretching away to freedom. Now, the first guy, he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend daredn’t make the leap. Y’see…y’see, he’s afraid of falling. So the first guy gets an idea. He says, “Hey! I have my flashlight with me! I’ll shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk along the beam and join me!”
B-but the second guy just shakes his head. He suh-says…he says”What do you think I am? Crazy?”
“You’d turn it off when I was half way across!”
