Late Night FDL: Waking Up

King King – Waking Up

British blues band King King released a track from their new album, Reaching For The Light

King King have released a lyric video for their track Waking Up…

It’s taken from the band’s latest album, Reaching For The Light, launched earlier this month via Manhaton Records and available now.

Mainman Alan Nimmo recently said: “We’re really proud of the album. It’s faster, louder, more energetic and more exciting. It’s got the potential to blow the roof off.”

What’s on your mind tonite…?

Aloha, CT. Did you catch that a study has established that the dramatic rise in dolphin deaths in the Gulf post-BP’s Deepwater extravaganza is … BP’s fault?

Gotta love our back-pedaling, flip-flopping, failed Foreign policy…

IS takeover of Ramadi setback for Iraq, US policy

Obama is reportedly shifting his ISIS strategy in Iraq after the disaster in Ramadi

Yet, arm them we must… US sending Iraq 1,000 anti-tank missile systems

Arm everybody in the region even… US approves arms sale of 1.879 bln USD to Israel

Meanwhile, in the DC Cesspool, the knives comes out… From the WaPoo’s Ignatious… Interagency battles are hurting the U.S.’s fight against the Islamic State

FDL has been behaving very strangely for me today – repeatedly crashing my browser; bouncing me from reading a post back to the front page (several times); even bouncing me from scrolling down as I read CT’s previous post tonight to MENA Mashup – wasn’t that yesterday?

    Growing pains, I guess.

  16. May 21, 2015 at 12:09 am

    It’s something or other, TW…! 😉

edit: I just grin and bear it, like y’all for the most part…!

My reaction to The Saker’s piece:

    1) Good for Russian leadership; Putin and, maybe, the Chinese leader (can never remember his name, yet) seem to be the only world-class leaders on the world stage, Putin in a class of his own.

    2) Sad for all of us. The only winners of wars are bankers, who start them.

Anyone recall my LN comment about the new site ICWatch a couple of weeks ago, the online searchable database of some 27,000 IC (Intelligence Community) employees gleaned from pubicly available online information?

Well, due to death threats, etc., from (apparently) IC employees, the weeks-old database has moved to WikiLeaks – and now provides data on nearly 140,000 IC employees.

terrorists have picked up a strategy ” of destabilise and control” from the current hegemonic power?

    interesting thought.

but perhaps the inspiration for the strategy is a bit older

They’ve certainly got the hegemonic inclination to ‘destabilise’ and/or destroy, not so much on the ‘Control’ part…!

without that desire and ability to control, hegemony is merely wanton.

sure nihilistic destruction is fun and all, but it’s merely an enormously expensive pastime.

*heh* The Hill published today Hillary’s and Bernie’s speaking fees for 2014… Bernie Sanders’ 2014 speaking gigs netted less than $2K

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) netted of $1,867.42 for two paid speeches
and a television appearance last year, according to according to
    financial disclosure reports.

The total reflects a paltry sum compared to the millions of dollars collected over the same period by former secretary of State Hillary Clinton, against whom Sanders is vying for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The highest-valued Sanders appearance, a spot on comedian Bill Maher’s HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher” in November, was worth only worth $850.

Financial disclosure reports show he gave the money to a charity, a non-profit
called Northeast Kingdom Community Action that helps low-income families
    in Vermont.
