That looks like that’s one heck of a county fair! Any particular reason for the family get-together, or just because?

I hope they’re predicting great weather.

It’s just a good reason to. When I lived up here as a kid, we all went to it every year. Kind of renewing a tradition.

But getting reservations at the local B&B..OY all booked up already for it. Could only get Sun and Mon. But sent email to it just in case there is something their online system isn’t showing.

Flew to Oahu for my Eldest’s wedding, dub….! It was a great ceremony and reception, but, Oahu(Honolulu) has way too many people, in way too small an area…!

one of my favorites from her as well, but she has such a lovely voice and she’s recorded so, so many fine songs that I probably couldn’t pick a single fave.

    this was my wife’s favorite

    (though I don’t know why)

Technically, my Daughter was the groom during her nuptials, She was the one wearing the pants when she married her bride…! 😉

They pretty much paid for it all, by themselves, I only had to come up with the airfare and hotel costs for the Better Half, my other Daughter and my Son., bb..!

One thing that I found interesting was the large volume of Chinese tourists, they even outnumbered the Japanese tourists…! That’s certainly a new wrinkle and indicative of the rise of the Chinese economy…!

I expect to see the same. With all the different dialects, how would i start to learn even some basics. I will hope they can croak out something that i can decipher. Working 7 daze a week i dont really have time to learn anything.
We have navy, marine, army training this summer which should put a ship of thousands in our port in some days. I have driven hack a couple times before when this happened. Fuck me runnin, they let the officers out in the day and the rest of the rifraf come out later. I tell ya in this little hamlet it is a sight to behold. But i will say mostly harmless save a few soiled cabs and bars.

  38. May 19, 2015 at 3:05 am

I totally agree with ya about all the different dialects, learning some basic Mandarin terms would be your best bet, homer…! That’s pretty much their official language which they all know…!

Btw, yesterday was Jerusalem Day, so a whole slew of Zionist bigots marched thru the middle of the Palestinian Eastern half of the city, hurling insults and racist slogans as they went…! 8-(

    Leaving On a Jet Plane!

The theme is still the same almost 50 years later. The landing strips are different, that is all. Back in 1969 is was SE Asia and the “Domino effect.”

Today it is wherever cheaper labor and or and the black gold is found in abundance with low extraction costs along with the “Nuremberg Effect.” Looks like a 30 years oil war?

I have this tremendous feeling of Deja Vu as I scroll down these comments with youtube links…

I guess it its good thing that local law can no longer look like the 101st BoB on the Streets of America. Where I come from the folks of the 101st protect Americans opposed to pointing weapons of war at unarmed citizens expressing contempt for systemic corruption. Speaking of corruption…

Leaving on a Jet plane for many, resulted in coming home in body bags…. How soon we forget!
