Late Night FDL: Never Gave Nobody Trouble

Leonard Cohen – Never Gave Nobody Trouble

Leonard Cohen has a new live album due out soon…

Leonard Cohen is to release a live album recorded during his Old Ideas world tour later this month, it’s been confirmed.

Can’t Forget: A Souvenir Of The Grand Tour will launch on May 15 via Sony Music Entertainment.

The 10-track album contains a selection of rare songs recorded during his 470 shows between 2008-2013 and is his first release since last year’s Popular Problems.

The live set is described as having “the immediacy, spontaneity, and thrilling intimacy of the best studio recordings made in the white heat of live performance and Cohen’s legendary sound checks.”

Happy Mother’s Day…! What’s on your mind tonite…?

Been a bit hot here these last few days. Up into the 80s. But supposed to get back down to the high 50s later on and have some rain.

Evening, cmk/Chris … It’s gotten hot here, too, near 90°, but with low humidity and healthy soft winds, I’m just grateful it’s not the usual Deep South stifling humidity, yet.

Just read Kevin’s Hersh/bin Laden story. Finally, something with the ring of truth.

Is it possible that Hillary’s candidacy might unravel the entire kabuki?

    Oh, good evening, all.

The Guardian picked up this news morsel, today:

Jeb Bush: I would have invaded Iraq

Yep. American morons are running for President again. But the Brits can’t wrap their mind around how colossally stupid Jeb is; that he would actually say that. All of that comes out in the comments, which are pretty irresistible:

Of course you would have, you worthless piece of shit. You and your vermin, genocide-supporting family deserve to be locked up for the rest of your lives.
    :
because of the intelligence they got… you mean the evidence your brother and Dick Cheney manufactured; you dung beetle?
    :
Can someone be tried for claiming he would have gone along with war crimes? That way, one day he could stand next to his half-wit evil brother and the rest of the gang of criminals at the Hague.
    :
Why aren’t these PNACers in chains in front of the Hague.
    :
May Cthulhu angrily rise out of the sea before another Bush becomes President.

Their shock and disbelief reminds me of this classic British headline in 2004:

And I hope we didn’t lose eCAHN and others with the change. I really don’t like change!

I don’t want to think this, seem “conditioned” not to entertain such ideas, but it does look like:

    1) WW3 has already begun, as Pope Francis said last fall, and

    2) That the rampant global warming/climate change we’ve been warned about our whole adult lives has arrived earlier than predicted.

When I was young, I wanted to live in ” interesting times” … ah, the folly of youth.

There was a time in my youth. When i learned enough of the shit, and where to find some truth. The bliss of ignorance was something i would never again enjoy. We have this medium and we learn well of whats going on. It’s a bit disconcerting. We as people are fucked, but we knew bliss.
