Late Night FDL: Believe
http://youtu.be/NsIefW_a6xI
Mumford and Sons performed on Letterman’s show recently…
Mumford & Sons returned to the stage at the historic Ed Sullivan Theater Tuesday night for a rousing nine-song set, which had David Letterman’s studio audience on their feet the entire time.
“Thank you so much for being here,” frontman Marcus Mumford told the audience. “This feels like an album launch party or something. It’s such a relief to finally have that f—ing out.”
Suffering from a bit of a cough, Mumford took a sip from a cup and joked, “I’m gonna need a lot more whiskey for this, actually,” as he launched into “Ditmas,” a track from the new album, Wilder Mind.
Throughout the performance Mumford juggled guitars several times, each specifically designed for a particular song. By the end of the set, Mumford looked as if he’d just finished a soccer game, winded and drenched in sweat.
Watch the full performance here.
Mumford’s audience was one of the final groups to watch Letterman in action before he says his final goodbye on May 20.
I’m back slinging hash…! What’s on your mind tonite…?

Hi Tuttle. One thing I already like is how Disqus auto-embeds a Youtube vid.

You have to code html tags yourself.
Russia and China Pledge Not to Hack Each Other
Maybe we should have moved the FDL servers to Russia or China.
Well then, I’m headed out to lose some weight!
I remarked a few weeks into this that The Saker had moved the servers for his pro-Ukraine Federalists site to Iceland . . . and got a great-looking, trouble-free new site. Ad-free and donor-supported, too (no billionare I know of, he runs donation campaigns for specific purposes too often – and thanks his donors by name and/or amounts in the comments).

Hey, Yellen said this week that stocks were “too high,” then there were horrible employment numbers … and the markets went nuts going even higher, because the bad employment situation means the Fed isn’t likely to raise interest rates in the next few months.
Greenspan’s “irrational exuberance” much?

I’m a retired guy who just wants to be around long enough to see how this horrible movie ends.

Fascinating … what used to be a Japanese/Korean/Chinese/Asian-ish character next to the “person head” on the Comments line above the Comment box has now become something like … an electrical schematic (?). First time that’s happened.
I first saw these weird characters at Yahoo for weeks, beginning in Feb. (when I first thought, “The internet is becoming unstable”) as well as at a few smaller sites for much longer. Clicking on one HuffPo article consistently took me to what looked like an Asian-character-surrounded Google search box page for several hours.
Didn’t bring up the Asian-ish characters here at FDL, because I never saw them here … until now.
Hmm.

I really do not see what you are talking about. Very bizarre.
That’s why wars, especially the World Wars, are called Bankers’ Wars. 😉

IMHO you may have some malware on your PC.
I’ve seen a lot of FIREDOGS (and ‘pups) wanting them, but this is a Disqus site now … and I’ve never seen comment numbers at any site using Disqus.
I miss them, too.
Even through all the “troubles”, FDL’s comments were easier for me to use than this Disqus goofiness. That’s why I started commenting here – when so many could not get in, I could. Disqus may well be why I go silent again.

I have absolutely no idea what’s going on……but I’m going with it for now.
I’ve thought that, too. I’ve had this Android phone for two years, and it’s gotten flaky in many ways (battery charging, volume control).
Know someone with the exact same phone, got hers two years ago, too, was having the very same charging problems – and just this Tues. was showing me the new phone she traded hers in for. (Sadly, she truly thinks Facebook IS the internet….)
Designed obsolescence, methinks. Or some Javascript worm doing its thing. Or both. Or ….

They make more money off of phones than phone service, I’ll bet.
I don’t thing anything is set in stone quite yet. There are a couple of other commenting systems that are wordpess compatible.
cmk/Chris … Thank you for being such a trooper hosting tonight. Time for me to say g’night. Happy trails …

At least they did not go with blogger for the site. I hate blogger.
disqus wont let me change the avatar. guessing i will have to exit disqus to start over. Any ideas out there.
homeroid.
My avatar is loaded in Gravatar, not Disqus. That’s where it is being grabbed from.

My guess is that’s where to load one if you want one. I use the same name and UID there and here.
Aloha, cmk and pups…! Mahalo for hosting, cmk, in my absence…! 😉
You can also upload your own pics for the avatar, Pluto…!
You can get the link to a specific comment by clicking on “Share” then the link icon, and copying the URL in the address bar.
Here’s the link to an earlier comment of dancingrabbit:

It’s cumbersome. There must be an easier way.
I’ve found that using the oldest best represents the old flow, bb…! 😉
Upload them where, CT?
Where did you upload yours?
Oh, wait, I see. You can tell Disqus where to get it. I guess it defaulted to Gravatar.
In the profile section, Pluto…!
