My Canuck homeys are hitting the road again…
Rush have been going back and forth on the subject of a 2015 tour for more than a month now. But it looks like they finally made up their minds: They’ll hit the road in May for a three-month tour.
The band will celebrate its 40th anniversary with the R40 Live Tour, which will play 34 North American cities starting on May 8 in Tulsa and winding down on Aug. 1 in Los Angeles. You can see the full itinerary below.
The Canadian power trio released a massive Blu-ray and DVD box late last year, also titled ‘R40,’ that chronicled their four decades as a live band. Rush’s last studio album, 2012?s ‘Clockwork Angels,’ debuted at No. 2.
Because there are no plans for any new music right now, Rush will most likely stick to their huge catalog of classic songs for the upcoming tour. As the press release announcing these dates states, “Concerts will highlight four decades of the band’s music.” That’s good news for fans hoping to hear lots of ’2112? and ‘Moving Pictures’ cuts.
