Help Firedoglake Buy the Kiriakou Kids a Treehouse for Christmas

Imprisoned whistleblower John Kiriakou won’t be home for Christmas this year, but we can still do something special for his children.

Donate $25 now to help Firedoglake buy the Kiriakou kids a treehouse that they can build with their dad when he’s out of jail.

It’s an especially tough time of year for the five young Kiriakou kids not to have their father around. But with only a few months to go until John is released, they are busy thinking of all the things they want to do with him when he gets home.

When I asked John’s wife, Heather, what the kids want for Christmas, she told me they are asking Santa for supplies to build a treehouse with their dad next spring.

The kids love the treehouse pictured above, so with your help, we’re raising the funds to buy the construction kit, lumber and hardware they’ll need to build it.

This is a great opportunity to do something nice for a family that has sacrificed so much. Please give what you can to help us make the Kiriakou kids’ Christmas wish come true.

I’m so proud of the FDL community’s work to call attention to John’s case in 2014. We organized a day of action in Washington, DC, ran advertisements, collected signatures for his pardon, helped the family pay their mortgage bills and even sent their kids to summer camp.

The family is incredibly grateful for our community’s support and concern over the past several months. But we’re not done yet, and with your help, we’ll continue to support the family and fight for fair justice for John.
