Late, Late Night FDL: Rolling In The Deep
The Queen of Soul has a new album due out…
The long-awaited Aretha Franklin project Aretha Franklin Takes On The Great Diva Classics will hit stores next month.
And just like it sounds, Franklin will be taking on some of the greatest classics out there.
While much has been speculated about the album, we now know that Franklin does in fact cover Adele‘s emotional “Rolling in the Deep.” And on the song, Franklin makes it her own with her impressive vocals and a unique blend of Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
Franklin belts “Rolling in the Deep” at the most poignant moments, making us wonder what she does with each of the nine other tracks.
Franklin reunited with longtime collaborator Clive Davis on the release as well as worked with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Andre 3000 who are the album’s producers. Additional songs featured on the album include the Supremes’ “You Keep Me Hangin’ On,” Alicia Keys’ “No One,” Dinah Washington’s “Teach Me Tonight” as well as Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” which will incorporate Destiny Child’s “Survivor.”
Aretha Franklin’s Aretha Franklin Takes On The Great Diva Classics will be released on Oct. 21.
