This is hilarious.
The conservatives took over the school board in Jefferson County, CO, and took steps to redo the American History curriculum, which has not gone down well with students, parents, and staff in the schools. As the Denver Post described things, “Community members are angry about an evaluation-based system for awarding raises to educators and a proposed curriculum committee that would call for promoting “positive aspects” of the United States and its heritage and avoiding material that would encourage or condone “civil disorder, social strife or disregard of the law.””
Hundreds of students in schools all over the district have been out there protesting on the sidewalks and streets. But being 21st century students, the best part of their protest has been on Twitter, driving traffic with the hashtag #JeffCoSchoolBoardHistory which has now been picked up by non-students and is gaining steam fast.
