A tough but Important Decision

After returning home from my vacation in Japan, I emailed the admissions department in UC Berkeley telling them that I have decided not to pursue my PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science. I know that I have been approached by them various times, and I was excited to go, but with the addition of John Yoo in the UC Berkeley Law, I have decided that as long as he is free from prosecution and in Berkeley, I won’t be. Until they remove him, I won’t be pursuing my educational goals there. I have no interest in being in the same city as a man who authorized torture. Torture is simply wrong, no matter who does it. Period.

I am a libertarian who supported Ron Paul in the 2008 elections and I intend to support him in 2012. I am an open minded college student who has joined atheist, socialist, and feminist organizations to understand their message and to convey my message of liberty in an effective manner. I am up for debate but I always know when we can reach common ground. I live in West Texas and have lived here for my life. I love to listen to progressive metal like Dream Theater, thrash metal like Metallica and Pantera, but I love to eat all sorts of food that tickle my taste buds.
