NH Poll: Sen. Shaheen’s Lead Over Scott Brown Grows
The poll found her now with a 12 point lead over former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown. In the potential race Shaheen stands at 50 percent while the Republican Brown is at only 38 percent. Shaheen has doubled her lead over Brown since WMUR last polled the race back in April.
Shaheen has also seen her lead grow over the other possible Republican nominees. She is beating state senator Bob Smith by 23 points and former state senator Jim Rubens by 26 points.
The poll found 57 percent of voters have a favorably opinion of Shaheen while only 29 percent have an unfavorable one, this makes Shaheen one of the most popular sitting senators. By comparison, only 31 percent have a favorable opinion of Brown while 40 percent view him negatively.
Shaheen has the advantage of incumbency, a double digit lead in the general election, and she is simply better liked. That is a solid place to be.
