A Third of the Country Says Obama is the Worst President Since WWII

A new Quinnipiac poll ask Americans to rank the presidents since WWII, and a plurality declared Barack Obama the worst.

Obama was ranked the worst by 33 percent of Americans, followed by George. W Bush with 28 percent, Richard Nixon at 13 percent, Jimmy Carter with 8 percent, and the rest of the pack were all in the low single digits.

While I question the American people’s ability to put things in a broader historic context, the poll highlights why Obama’s attempts at compromising with Republicans have been mostly doomed.

Not surprisingly, the poll found 63 percent of Republicans ranked Obama the worst president in 70 years. According to almost the entire Republican base Barack Obama isn’t just a president with positions they oppose, someone they dislike, or merely a bad president. To the Republican base Obama is by far the absolutely worst president in modern times. Helping the worst president to do more would obviously seem unacceptable..
