This is How Desperate Obama is to get Young People to Sign Up for Coverage

To promote the health care exchanges before the open enrollment period ends in a few weeks President Obama decided to go on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis.

The President deserves credit for doing whatever he can to try to make his policies work even if it means taking part in a rather cringe-inducing sketch.

That said does anyone think Obama would be doing this if the rollout went well, the law was popular, and exchange sign ups were well ahead of expectations at this point? This is not a plan A, it is more of a Hail Mary.

Of course if Democrats had just expanded coverage using public universal health care programs instead of some Rube Goldberg system most of the uninsured would have already been automatically enrolled and the President wouldn’t need to be desperately hawking the exchanges.
