Support for Obama and Obamacare Continues to Slide

Obama has even lost young people, which had been one of his strongest groups

There is some really bad news for President Obama in the latest ABC/Washington Post poll. His job approval rating has dropped to the lowest point ever in his presidency in their polling. Currently only 42 percent approve of how he is handling his job while 55 percent disapprove.

Obama has even lost young people, which had been one of his strongest groups. A slim plurality of adults under 30 disapprove of his job performance.

What is likely driving Obama’s drop are the problems with implementing the Affordable Care Act. His signature health care law is even less popular.  Now only 40 percent of Americans support the law while 57 percent oppose it. Opposition is not only larger put more intense, 46 percent claiming the “strongly oppose” the law.

If Democrats can’t get fixed soon there are going to start facing serious political pressure to delay the individual mandate. The poll found 71 percent of Americans think the mandate should be delayed in response to the technical glitches. The individual mandate was never popular and it is becoming even more toxic now that buying insurance is not proving to be anywhere as easy as Obama once promised.
