Authorities probe reported hanging at GE plant
Staff report, Erie Times-News
Authorities are investigating a reported hanging tonight in Building 20 at GE Transportation, 2901 East Lake Road, in Lawrence Park Township, according to Erie County dispatch.
Township police and fire crews were called to the plant at about 7:23 p.m. after workers discovered a person hanging from a crane in Building 20, according to county dispatch.
No other details were immediately available.
Rumor on local message board from G.E. workers is this was a woman who found out her job was being outsourced to G.E.’s new non union plant in Ft. Worth, Texas. Over 900 jobs were outsourced in the first round. It is nothing short of amazing G.E. has managed to keep this quiet, one would think it would be all over national news.
Guess all those media holdings really pay off for G.E. at times like this. God forbid the Honey Boo Boo crowd see the human cost of vulture capitalism.
