Over Easy: …one more thing
According to an Important survey: Nation hates candy corn, loves Skittles. Also from the survey…
1. People really and truly still eat Tootsie Rolls, apparently. Even though they are basically tinted wax that tastes like nothing, people eat them and then talk about it on social media.
2. People seem to prefer Kit Kat bars to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, which is an outrage. (Also: Where is Twix on this list? No mention of Twix bars whatsoever? What kind of a sick country are we living in?)
HuffPo features the The Best Halloween Costumes Of 2013, According To Us
The National Retail Federation has another list of top costumes.
NRF’s Top Costume Survey shows that adults and children are leaning toward traditional selections in 2013. Americans are expected to spend $2.6 billion on Halloween costumes for adults, children and pets.
The top adult costume is a witch; the top child’s costume is a princess, and the top pet costume (PET COSTUME???) is a pumpkin. Granted, my only pets were cats, but I don’t think I’d have ever been able to get one into a costume! I think my daughter’s family may dress up their chocolate lab, though.
From another website we have the The most inappropriate Halloween costumes of all time.
Scroll down, there’s a funny NSFW costume among the otherwise disgusting collection.
Most of us probably saw a bit about Julianne Hough, who went to a party in blackface as a character from Orange is the New Black and was roundly criticized for it. Apparently some people also thought dressing up as a dead Trayvon Martin with an accompanying George Zimmerman character was funny. (I didn’t.)
What kinds of costumes arrived at your door last night? Or did you attend a Halloween party that was fun? Or pick another topic if Halloween is “sooo yesterday’s news.”
