And the next trick for the Tea Baggers is:

Dear Concerned American,

What kind of future will you have?

What kind of future will your kids, your grandkids, your nieces, and your nephews have?

These are serious questions facing not only you but all of us in Congress.
rubbish (teabags etc)
That’s why I pray you will immediately complete your Emergency Taxpayer Questionnaire below at once.

You see, as I write you today:
*** The deficit this year is projected at $642 billion with more than $6 trillion added to our debt since 2008;
*** Social Security has already begun to run in the red;

Read Modern Monetary Theory and understand sectoral balances. The deficit has exist to increase wealth in the private sector and pay for the trade deficit.

Social Security has already begun to run in the red as projected. The Bonds are good for a long time, and eliminating the SS Cap on wages removes the problem for ever.

*** The real unemployment rate is more than 14 percent with millions more workers relegated to part time work;

Job Guarantee and Employer of last resort programs from the federal government coupled with elimination of tax breaks for off-shoring jobs and steep tariffs for imported manufactured goods cures this problem. Why should the capitalists and Chinese mooch of the American Citizen?

*** Medicare is ultimately destined to totally run out of money while private insurance rates are skyrocketing;

The fix to Medicare is to increase the size of the program to include all Americans. Then funding problem is eliminated.

Permit negotiating for drug prices, eliminate pay-for-procedure billing for doctors, then eliminate student debt (Doctors graduate with $250,000 in student debt, which teaches them what, precisely?) by redirecting money from defense to education.

The fact is, President Obama and my big spending colleagues in Washington, D.C. have been piling on to our national debt every day, and show few signs of slowing down.

They’ve been spending money we don’t have for so long, some economists are beginning to question not if the U.S. will ultimately have to declare bankruptcy, but when.

If we don’t reverse course soon, the consequences will be disastrous.

Project much? Don’t spending bills originate in congress, in the house? The largest increases in US debt under Reagan and Bush II? As to the consequences, true. But your solutions make the problem worse, Congressman.

That’s why I hope you’ll sign a special “Just Say No” Petition to reject the next debt ceiling increase scheduled to come up in just 9 weeks.

Don’t you ever learn? That would completely destroy Wall St. Is that what you and your republican buddies want?

With your help, the National League of Taxpayers plans to generate a tidal wave of petitions and questionnaires to my colleagues.

Well it might if your email inbox was not full.

The fact is, the $16 trillion national debt we hear so much about is just the tip of the iceberg.

When the government’s unfunded liabilities for Medicare, Social Security, and federal employees’ retirement benefits are counted, America is really on the hook for over $86.8 trillion.

Nonsense, see above for practical solutions, and remember progressive taxes will also boost the economy. Note taxes are SOCIAL POLICY, not fiscal policy.

Of course, just as they falsely claimed about the so-called “sequestration of funds” earlier this year, President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi will say a vote to stop a debt ceiling hike would be an economic Armageddon.

It has been. Look at you own unemployment numbers.

But the fact is, the federal government can still spend $6.7 billion per day without raising the debt ceiling one penny.

Yes, if one (you?) wants to bankrupt the private sector. See sectoral balances, and explain how the trade deficit capital account is to be funded.

Of course, the “solution” to our ongoing fiscal disaster put forward by President Obama and his tax-and-spend allies is to tax ourselves out of the hole.

Yes, taxes need to be more equitable and more progressive. SS tax and Medicare taxes on all income, followed by equal progressive rates on all income, earned income (wages), and unearned income (portfolio and passive).

Remember taxes are SOCIAL POLICY — See Tax breaks in the tax code.

But the fact is, all of the tax hikes Obama says he has in mind will only make things worse.

Proof? Where? In the huge number of jobs the “Job Creators” have created with their increased wealth? See you comment on unemployment above.

Our only hope is to start cutting, and fast.

Yes cutting (you own throat) is so effective. Go and ask the Irish, British, Greeks, Spanish and Portuguese how this is working out for them.

But whether we pass a full budget with entitlement reform or not, the fact is we can immediately achieve hundreds of billions in savings by:.
*** Abolishing the boondoggle Departments of Education, Energy, Commerce and Housing and Urban Development;
*** Repealing the monstrously expensive ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank financial regulation law;
*** Transitioning Medicaid and food stamps back to the states where they belong and cutting back on the $37 billion spent on foreign aid.

How about the DoD? The other agencies you mention are drops in the bucket compared with over 40% of Federal Spending on the DoD.

Here’s a suggestion. Lets eliminate all Federal Spending in your district, the 36th, and then your state, Texas, first? When will you propose making an example of your district?

Today, the feds run 79 different welfare programs, 160 programs for housing assistance, 47 for job training, 82 for teacher quality, 80 for transportation assistance, and 56 for financial education.

In return for all that, we still have an official poverty rate of 15 percent.

Yes, it is disgraceful. We got it down to about 8% without “free trade” and “welfare reform”.

Yet Barack Obama and his liberal pals keep binging.

That’s strange. Don’t spending bills originate in the house? Could you try writing some, and then negotiating with the senate? I’d recomment a good hard look at trade policy and off-shoring as the highest priority.

Now, with votes on the debt ceiling coming up in a matter of weeks, it’s vital that in addition to returning your Emergency Taxpayer Questionnaire you also sign your “Just Say No” Petition to your Congressman and Senators.

You want to break the world economy again? Why? Try winning (non-gerrymandered) elections, and NOT holding the majority to hostage.

The only way to force them to confront the debt head on is by sending a tidal wave of petitions to let them know the American people won’t stand for inaction.

That’s why it’s vital that you click here to sign your Petition to your Senators and Congressman.

And why in addition to that, it’s vital that you help my friends at the National League of Taxpayers with a special contribution.

Begging for money again. I suppose that’s all you congress people do. Try governance. It is what we pay you to do.

The fact is, even though many Americans who receive this e-mail will sign the petition and fill out their taxpayer questionnaire, many won’t be able to contribute.

That’s why it’s vital you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or even more if you can.

Your special gift of $35 or even $100 or $500 will ultimately save taxpayers literally billions of dollars in the years to come.

You are proposing a death spiral for the economy. That would decrease taxes and cause the exact problem you are trying (very badly) to solve.

You should also know that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, so there isn’t a better time to give.

Who? If you want million, why will your well heeled supporter not come up with the, fully disclosed, necessary bribes?

Your donations will help the National League of Taxpayers organize:
*** Extensive internet, direct mail, and telephone campaigns to generate at least one million petitions and questionnaires to Congress like the ones that accompany my letter.
*** Extensive personal lobbying of key Members of Congress by rank and file National League of Taxpayers members and staff.
*** Hard-hitting TV, radio, and newspaper ads to be run in targeted states and districts, mobilizing the American people and detailing the dangers of our soaring debt.
So after clicking here to fill out your questionnaire and sign your petition, please help with a contribution of at least $25 or $35.

Some people have already given as much as $500.

Others have sent $50 or $100, but no matter how much you give, whether it’s chipping in with $10 or a larger contribution of $150, I guarantee your contribution is urgently needed and will be deeply appreciated.

And don’t forget that a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, no matter the amount.

The national debt is such an out-of-control behemoth that if we again raise the debt ceiling, it will threaten to put America on a path of permanent decline.

With your help, we can stem the tide of Big Government and stop Barack Obama and his liberal pals from spending us into oblivion.

Sincerely,

Steve Stockman
United States Congressman

P.S. Federal entitlement costs are out of control while our national debt is skyrocketing.

Not true. The deficit as a percentage of Federal Budget is falling.

So please fill out your Emergency Taxpayers Questionnaire and sign your “Just Say No” Debt Ceiling Petition which the National League of Taxpayers has prepared for your Congressman and Senators.

And to serve a mandate on my colleagues and take advantage of the special matching grant, please send a generous contribution of $100, $75, $50, or $35 at once.

Remember, a generous supporter has agreed to match your contribution, dollar-for-dollar, so there isn’t a better time to give.
