@pettybooshwah Glen or Glenda?

Many former and current NSA employees cannot be pleased with the revelations leaked by Edward Snowden. But targeting one of the journalists involved in the case with a homophobic and transphobic smear crosses a line, especially for a sitting college professor. John Schindler is a former NSA official and current Naval War College professor and referred to Glenn Greenwald, who is openly gay, as “Glenda” in the midst of what is a long series of tweets condemning Greenwald and his reporting on the NSA. The tweet was in response to someone sending Schindler a picture of Private Manning in female form.
Something Schindler seems particularly upset by.
Still not getting why anyone is supposed to care that a weirdo responsible 4 the biggest classified leak in USG history thinks he's a woman.

@EmptyCircle He is still he, legally and biologically speaking, last I heard … that may change.

Schindler as both a former NSA official and Naval War College professor has been outspoken in his condemnation of Greenwald’s reporting and the Snowden leaks. Schindler was even invited by Chris Hayes to go on MSNBC to offer his perspective. During the appearance Schindler accused Snowden of “not being in control of his destiny” citing his affiliation with WikiLeaks which he claimed as being in league with Russian intelligence.
It is unclear how widespread Schindler’s views are among those who work at the NSA or the Naval War College, but it does offer an insight into the psychology of some of those supporting the NSA’s domestic spying program.
Update: Mr. Schindler has responded on Twitter.
