Cartoon Friday Watercooler

It’s Cartoon Friday, again!

The characters from Omelette.

Though most weekdays on MyFDL begin with Over Easy, tonight we’re going to end with an omelette. Or rather Omelette, a short animated student film by Maddie Sharafian.

She describes the film:

I wanted to make something that focuses on how meaningful it is to make food for someone you love. My family’s lives practically revolve around cooking for each other, so it’s a theme that I’m deeply attached to.

In Omelette, a long day is brightened with an act of culinary love.

She created the film for the CalArts Character Animation Program. You can browse the 2012 archives from the program on Vimeo or, if you’re feeling a little more impressionistic, you might want to check out this CalArts Animation channel with many experimental films.

What are your favorite cartoons? I will try to use your suggestions in future installments.

It’s also an open conversation in the comments. What’s on your mind?
