Late Night: How We Grew Up

This is what we grew up watching. Check out some of those games advertised–head bashing, gun shooting, battleship sinking games. And the cartoons! Wow, is it any wonder we’re all a little weird? What did you do on Saturday morning? What cartoons did you watch? Did you ever beg for any of these games?

I asked Santa Claus for some spooky game that glowed in the dark–it had a giant phosphorescent eyeball on a stand in the center, and as you tilted the tray it rested on a marble rolled to spell out answers to your questions. It was pretty cool, but you needed friends or siblings to use it properly. I also had Hot Wheels and Barbie dolls. And books, lots of books, but that didn’t stop me from watching Saturday morning cartoons, though frankly Davy and Goliath and Gumby creeped me out, and Casper was seriously disturbing: He was a dead child!
