Anonymous Covers Restore the Fourth Rallies in Multiple Cities

Restore the 4th PosterToday, July 4 2013, is a national day of action to Restore the 4th Amendment.

The Fourth Amendment reads:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Yet today we are routinely spied on by the police and our government. Nationwide, people will rally and take the streets to demand our basic Constitutional rights back.

Here in Austin, we’re gathering at the Texas State Capitol, site of so many recent protests for women’s rights. Though not directly related, it was a woman’s right to privacy that helped decide Roe V. Wade in favor of abortion access.

Below I am attaching tweets from @YourAnonLive, a group account bringing live news from multiple tweeters. I’ll be contributing tweets from Austin (look for the hashtag #RT4ATX), while others will contribute from around the United States.

Is there something a little ironic about Anonymous journalists covering an event like this, given what our country’s become? Perhaps, but I’ll let you speculate on what in the comments. I’ve got a rally to cover.
