Tuesday Watercooler

Obviously a sad day here at Firedoglake.

While holding down the fort here at MyFDL I managed to spend some time in the garden planting carrots and peas, focusing on starting new life (however small) and soaking up some vitamin D. The exercise was needed too — hauling dirt and water from the rain barrels — it helps keep my head clear. I made a fresh batch of pesto from garlic and shallot shoots I harvested from the garden. I wish I could share it with all of you — we’re supposed to share food at times like this, right?

I don’t have much to say which hasn’t been said — let’s hope we all have people who love us so much and a community so loyal around us when our times come.

Here’s a performance of “The Body Of An American” by the Pogues, taken from a 2012 performance at the Olympia in Paris.
