Over Easy: Wednesday; Family Style
Good and Wonderful Morning, Peeps, Pups, Friends.
I’ve been looking at articles on the web that pertain to family issues. Sadly, a lot of them deal with how the Powers That Be make it harder and harder to provide the best and to be a good and loving parent, or spouse, sibling. Aren’t we always trying to make things better, or at the very least healthy for those we love? We enjoy taking care of each other. Or, am I living in fairy tale land?
I heard this song on the radio this morning when I was out running a few errands. I was thinking, I wish the government would help us out a little bit more.
That’s the Shindig version and I could send the lyrics to congress in an email.
Shindig! is an American musical variety series which aired on ABC from September 16, 1964 to January 8, 1966. The show was hosted by Jimmy O’Neill, a disc jockey in Los Angeles at the time who also created the show along with his wife Sharon Sheeley and production executive Art Stolnitz.
When I was reading the text of that copy, the name Art Stolnitz sent my synapses a’squirtin’. I not only knew this man at Warner Bros., his office was Right Across the Hall from mine. Or, er, my boss’. He was an extremely personable and very nice man. Honorable. And, I became bestest friends with his assistant, Mary, who was the other half of the Double Trouble team I enjoyed while I worked there. Also, when my family went to Hawaii, we stayed at his time share. Artie, ya did good. It ain’t what you do, but the way that you do it, to quote my favorite commercial these days.
So, links to other family related issues.
And, I want to direct you to a post by Jane Hamsher for ways that you can help that situation.
Gregg Levine wrote this excellent article with regards to another health issue.
Just from the way I happen to view issues, this story Gay Marriage Comes to the Supreme Court has implications for many families.
And, to round this list out, I asked my Sonny what he would include in today’s Over Easy. This is the link he gave me.
There you have it, family style.
And, for fun, here’s a youtube video of Hang Gliding in Sylmar. They take off from the top of Mt. Kagel, above our community and land in the ravine next to our Park. The neighborhood they fly over right before they land is where I live.
