Visit the New Firedoglake Online Store & Support Bradley Manning
Bradley Manning will be back in court November 27th and December 15th, and thanks to your donations, FDL’s Kevin Gostzola will be there again as the only reporter who has covered the Manning hearings every day from day one.
You can bring Kevin back to Ft. Meade to cover the trial and raise awareness of Manning’s case by visiting our brand new online store, and picking up a new Bradley Manning sweatshirt! These soft American Apparel sweatshirts feature the iconic beret and glasses design of David Cran, and the proceeds from your purchase directly fund Kevin Gosztola’s coverage.
Earlier this month, Kevin one of the only two credentialed reporters in the courtroom when the defense announced that Manning may be willing to acknowledge responsibility for leaking some of the information he is charged with releasing to Wikileaks. It made headline news around the world instantly, and Kevin’s reporting was quoted on PBS Frontline, The Guardian, Politico, Ars Technica, Forbes, Wired, CNET and The Atlantic, just to name a few.
It has been extraordinarily expensive to fly Kevin out and pay his expenses to attend each and every pre-trial hearing (one wonders why there were 15,000 journalists at the Democratic National Convention yet none of them can find their way to Fort Meade). But thanks to your generosity and support, Kevin has been a constant presence in the courtroom from the start, reminding the judge, the prosecutors and everyone involved that their actions are being watched and recorded for all the world to see.
We have high hopes for the new store, and will soon be introducing Occupy Supply Registries that give disaster relief workers and activist groups the chance to publicly list the supplies they need – and you the opportunity to fulfill those needs for each group directly. So stay tuned!
Finally, we value not only your support but your incisive feedback as well. If you have any problems, questions or comments, please reach us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at (202) 506-3907.
Thank you so much – we couldn’t do any of this without you.
