Watch Joe Scarborough react to a hapless Romney rally vid + Romneybot 5.0 release imminent

I’ve watched this video at least five times and it’s so hilarious that I’m almost in tears every time. On NBC News’ Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough reacts to a clip of Mitt Romney trying to rally the crowd to stop chanting “Ryan, Ryan” to say “Romney/Ryan.” Scarborough covers his face, and says “Sweet Jesus.”

And the GIF, via Mike Hayes at Buzzfeed:

Mittens needs a campaign boost and the latest life preserver comes in the form of assistance from a faction of his fellow Mormons. An e-blast went out asking for a day of prayer and fasting to help Romney succeed during the presidential debates, asking that God rain blessings down on on his struggling campaign to become POTUS.

The name of the original author of the e-mail was redacted in both versions sent to BuzzFeed, but sources who have received it said it has reached Latter-day Saints in Utah, California, Nevada, and Colorado at least.

“I am asking you to join me and my family on Sunday Sept. 30 by fasting and praying for Mitt Romney,” the author writes. “That he will be blessed in the debates, which will be held starting Oct. 3rd. I know that seems like such a small thing, but I believe ‘from small things, great things can come about.'”

…One Mormon wrote, “This is from one of our Sister Service Missionaries in our ward. I have been concerned that Obama, with his fast talking and lies, will appear to be better in the debates. It is true, his only redeeming quality seems to be his ability to confound those who would speak the truth.”

Orbison Rice at Free Wood Press said we’re going to see a reboot — a release of Romneybot V5.0 for the debates:

On October 1, the long-awaited Mitt Romney 5.0 is expected to be released to the general public. Just days before the debates, this latest version of the Presidential candidate is projected to be a dramatic improvement over Romney 4.0 which has thus far been described as both a “complete disaster” and the “Windows Vista of Presidential candidates”. The Romney 4.0 has been plagued with bugs that have had his campaign in a constant state of crisis management.

…The Mitt Romney 5.0 will offer voters an entirely new Mitt Romney experience. Voters can expect a return to a more centrist Mitt who will revisit his fondness for universal health care and pro-choice legislation. Romney will also be equipped with the latest in multimodal interaction technology which will better equip Romney to process new information and respond in a more intelligent manner.
