Quitter: Misogynistic Acid-Hurling Advocate Quits

Gone. Jay Townsend.

Acid-hurling advocate and former GOP candidate for United States Senate Jay Townsend has quit his job as the spokesperson for the re-election campaign of Congresswoman Nan Hayworth (R-NY). The Congresswoman tidily did not address the violence-against-woman-officeholders aspect of her former spokesperson’s advocacy in accepting his resignation:

“Jay Townsend has offered, and I have accepted, his resignation from his position with my campaign,” reads an online statement from Hayworth’s campaign. “Now let’s return to talking about issues that really matter to families: job creation, spending restraint and economic development.”

Does this mean we really have to stop talking about how badly our liberal ladybrains misconstrued Townsend’s call to hurl acid at female Senators? Or can we still await some Democrat — any Democrat other than one hoping to oppose Congresswoman Hayworth in November — to speak out in Washington about this vile call for violence against officeholding women?

As Katie J M Baker writes on Jezebel:

It’s so weird how people misconstrued his diatribe! I mean, I often tell my coworkers I’m going to “throw acid” on them. It’s a colloquialism!
