Actual thing I found on the internet

Last night I got into another one of my distressingly more frequent commenter flame wars with that Very Special Faction of FDL commenters who are horribly disappointed in Barack Obama because he is, as one commenter pointed out, exactly the same (or possibly worse) than both George W. Bush  AND Willard Mitt Romney.  After pointing out that anyone expressing  said sentiment is, how did I put it? oh, yes : “a fucking idiot” it was explained to me by said cohort of Very Special FDL commenters that I was a Obamabot and a corporate shill and a slew of other epithets which in any other circumstances might be considered mortally wounding if they weren’t so adorably dumb.

I then requested a simple answer to a simple question:

If you think you can explain why Mitt Romney is going to be a better President for everyone than Obama, then spit it out.

Ask a simple question … get a stupid answer:

You are as out of touch with the American people as any Obamabot or Bushbot could possibly be.

You live in a world where you think you should hire [elect] corrupt politicians to run the country. I dont want any part of that world.

NEITHER Obama or Romney should be president… both would be an equal disaster for the country.

I’m sure you probably found that response as helpful as I did. To my credit, I didn’t suggest suicide, so kudos to me. I rawk.

But the fact of the matter is that, on the evening of November 6th there will only be (barring any extraordinary intervening circumstances possibly involving a dead hooker or two wetsuits and a dildo or any combination thereof) two people with any chance at all of being President of these United States through 2016. For those who think that one of those people might be Rocky Anderson, well … no, but thanks for playing. Here’s a cupcake, go sit in the corner while the adults talk. Off you go. No no, you don’t eat the paper. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes.  The electoral college is the system that we have and, barring a celestial visit from Direct Election Jesus, it will be the way we will elect either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney either one of which will be  president for the next four years (barring any extraordinary intervening circumstances possibly involving a dead hooker or two wetsuits and a dildo or any combination thereof).

Having said all that, and because I am all about the First Amendment and shit, I am opening up my comments this one time only to anyone who feels that they can make the case for why President Mitt Romney would be a better president for liberals, progressives, classical liberals, neo-liberals, Chomskyites, and loosely defined anarcho-syndicalist Starbucks-window-smashers than keeping History’s Greatest Monster, Barack Obama on the job.

C’mon, “real liberals/progressives”. You’ve already told us all the ways that Barack Obama has destroyed your adolescent hopes and dreams and fantasies America. Now we need you to make the case for the Mittster over Obummer.

Let’s hear it.
