The Absolutely Breathtaking National Defense Resources Preparedness Executive Order

Congratulations to the Obama Administration. With the singular exceptions that the oil and coal industries were able to shelter their pipelines from potential expropriation, the entire infrastructure, population, and productive capacity of the USA has been placed under the dictate of the Federal government as of March 16th, 2012.

I am in awe. And I approve.

Finally, all of the cards of the National Security State have been laid on the table with specificity and sweeping total inclusion. All that is missing is the triumphant braggadocio and accompanying flourish “Check it out!” anywhere in the statement.

I applaude. This has come at a marvelous time.

People, you all must read this document. It is not that long and you will find it fascinating. Truly.

Without exaggeration, this Order authorizes the Federal government to do absolutely anything that it wants to do “in the event of a POTENTIAL threat to the security of the United States . . .”

So, as of immediately, the power is given and plans are currently being made for the full implementation of their Order.

Exactly how far, how deep into the countryside does this take effect?

If I told you that it usurps the power to command the appearance and use of Farmer Doe’s tractor that he uses to plow the lower forty and to haul chicken manure, would you believe it?

It does that, and far, far more.

This paragraph explicitely defines the extent of Farmer Doe’s facilities liable to be enlisted for required participation in the effort to shelter the Motherland from today’s threats:

Sec. 502 (f)  “Food resource facilities” means plants, machinery, vehicles (including on farm), and other facilities required for the production, processing, distribution, and storage (including cold storage) of food resources, and for the domestic distribution of farm equipment and fertilizer;

Going further, for the stated purpose “to promote the national defense”, the Order mandates non-government parties to require acceptance and priority performance of contracts or orders;

. . . the Order allows government agencies to procure and install Government owned equipment in plants, factories, or other industrial facilities owned by private persons;

. . . to make subsidy payments to ensure the supply of raw or nonprocessed materials;

. . . contract with any Federal Reserve Bank to assist the agency in the making of its own guarantee contracts (does this bypass the congressional budget process?);

. . . to employ persons of outstanding experience and ability without compensation and to employ experts, consultants, or organizations and associated employees;

. . . control the general distribution of any material (including applicable services) in the civilian market;

. . . to direct, control, and coordinate civil transportation capacity regardless of ownership – “Civil transportation” includes movement of persons and property by all modes of transportation in interstate, intrastate, or foreign commerce within the United States, its territories and possessions, and the District of Columbia, and related public storage and warehousing, ports, services, equipment and facilities;

. . . take authority over the production, conservation, use, control, and distribution of all of forms of energy, including petroleum, gas (both natural and manufactured), electricity, solid fuels (including all forms of coal, coke, coal chemicals, coal liquification, and coal gasification), solar, wind, other types of renewable energy & atomic energy;

. . . to control all sources of food, health resources, industry, etc.

I applaud the openness. The cards are all on the table. My main request of government is transparency. Thanks for the information. I will remain publicly silent and cooperate, unless in good conscious I cannot. There is nothing further to say, IMHO.

I do not hear the so-called “conservatives”, nor the so-called “progressives” SERIOUSLY objecting and demanding a repeal. I have to conclude that the government thinks this authority will be needed and the appropriate fig leafs deployed in anticipation.

What are they anticipating? I’d ask God to help us, if I thought it would do any good.
