Watercooler: Chanukah Music – Ma’oz Tzur
I am so embarrassed. Today was the first day of Chanukah, which I had calendared, and was all “goody, I’ll do Chanukah songs!” – because last night was the first night of Chanukah – and that is what counts!
So here I am late, on Night #2. Sorry about that. But I still love what I had already looked up. These kids from Staten Island PS 22 are simply adorable – they just love what they’re doing – singing Ma’oz Tzur joyfully! I especially love the second singing…the teacher teasing, but the kids really KNOW the material and just are so spontaneous, and talented.
Next, I love klezmer music. I just do – and have for a long time. And Robin Seletsky, klezmer clarinet soloist with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra does just an excellent job in the following medley:
And last but not least, keeping with the new/alt material theme, some brand new material from last week. I would definitely like to party with these guys! L’Chaim!
