A Strong Incentive for Rick Perry to Run

Texas’ Republican Governor Rick Perry has not yet officially decided if he will seek his party’s presidential nomination, but a new poll out from Gallup should help encourage Perry to run. The poll containing all potential candidates found Rick Perry in second place.

This poll also found that Perry would be in second place in a narrower field, one containing only undeclared candidates.

If Perry enters the race he would start off not only in a great position, but he would also have significant potential for growth. Only 56 percent of likely primary voters know who Perry is compared to Mitt Romney’s recognition which is 85 percent.

Numbers like these should make it hard for any politician to pass up a run.
