To be clear, I am absolutely for a clean & green environment. However, there is a limit to what I will accept when it comes to regulation. Before I get into the subject of EPA bashing, this is what I believe America should be doing. Go to alternate fuels and the best one to go to immediately would be natural gas. It would achieve the reduction limits set out immediately. Power should be produced with renewables and that would include nuclear power. It is pollution by Interstate Industry that should be regulated by the Federal government and not intrastate industry which should be regulated by the states.
That said I fully believe the USEPA should be disbanded. It is indeed over-regulating and killing our businesses. Further it has bought into many United Nations Protocols, including sustainable development only they use the term “Smart Growth”. I recently read and article by a Constitutional expert who states “Environmentalism is the new Communism”. It is clear that there are those who would have us turn to “environmental Global Governance” and in conjunction with that economic global governance. Environmentalists are convincing Americans to throw their Freedoms on the bonfire. It starts with property rights and goes from there. I have long believed that people are good stewards of the environment. To me the solution should not be Global protocols. The solution is to define the problem and develop innovative solutions to the problem that do not infringe on individual rights nor dictate how people live. New and innovative technology is the best solution to move forward. Regulation only moves the human race backwards and stifles a future for a sovereign country. The Obama administration has directed all federal agencies to accede to the Law of the Sea Convention and he is intent on “Cap and Trade”. If we continue to use fossil fuels that may be appropriate but it is not the way to go because it will destroy the economic viability of our nation. Again USEPA has bought into these global protocols. The U.S. Congress has not ratified these treaties, yet the U.S. Conference of mayors has skirted the government and many have bought into them. The United Nations has blown past Federal and State government using the ICLEI to get local communities on board.
Many communities have joined the “Cool Community” initiative. They have no idea what they have bought into. They have no idea what the larger agenda is. The larger agenda is a big agenda by a group focused on Global power and Global dictates and the EPA is a part of it. So I believe anyone who “bashes” the EPA, does so justifiably. I do not like being dictated to by environmental groups because they get fixed on a concept. They can not imagine what is “possible” and only are capable of using “prohibition” of activities, infringement on rights and freedoms as a solution to environmental problems. 40 years ago you could use a beach and nesting areas were protected and respected. Now you can not use a beach if an “endangered species” is on that beach. It is one or the other. Either you can live in harmony with the environment or you can’t live in the environment. So which is it and who is going to stop “Environmental communism”. This may irritate a few people but perhaps if you stand back and look at the reality set here you will understand this very real dynamic.
