Saving one animal will not change the world but it will change the world for that animal.
Meow is like aloha – it can mean anything. ~Hank Ketchum
Another quiet week at Chez Tigre. I could really get used to this. And not a one of us got Raptured.
It doesn’t take much to get a cat into a habit. I get a parade first thing in the morning on the loo and I get a parade after they get fed in the evening. Everybody wants to be petted or brushed. During the week they get fed just before the Rays game starts so during the first few innings I get to listen to the game while Mojo and Maste take turns in my lap and Shiimsa, Bapu, Igraine and Feurae change positions on the dining table to be petted. Igraine doesn’t want to be petted, she wants to be brushed. But she never, ever sits still. Makes brushing her easier in a way cuz I don’t have to change positions. Once I’ve let the canned food tigers out of the bedroom I get to go through the petting routine all over again. Toes has decided he likes the kitchen floor and I have to go to him. I can imitate his meows pretty well and we have a great time meowing at each other. I wish I knew how his previous two-leggeds treated him. It’s taken 2 years to get him to like being petted.
I saw this clip at HuffPo earlier this morning. Yeah, I guess miracles do happen.
I challenge everybody to get through this ancient clip dry eyed.
Hairball season seems to be coming to an end. I’m only finding 1 or 2 a day now. Lots of clumps of hair when I sweep up the dining room floor and lots of clumps come out of the brushing exercise in the evening. I usually find a whisker when I sweep up the clumps though and that’s a plus. I’m wating for Sita to drop one in front of me cuz I ain’t never gonna find one of hers on the floor.
Share you tiger stories with us. I know Margaret has a story and I’m hopin’ Janis does as well.
The sage has no interests of his own,
But takes the interest of the people as his own.
He is kind to the kind;
He is also kind to the unkind:
For Virtue is kind.
He is faithful to the faithful;
He is also faithful to the unfaithful:
For Virtue is faithful.
In the midst of the world, the Sage is shy and self effacing.
For the sake of the world he keeps his heart in its nebulous state.
All the people strain their ears and eyes:
The Sage only smiles like an amused infant.

Four little Persians, but only one looked in my direction. I extended a tentative finger and two soft paws clung to it. There was a contented sound of purring, I suspect on both our parts. ~George Freedley
