Romneychusettes: The case for Mittens for President
I titled this Romneychusettes because believe it or not Mitt Romney comes from his own universe. A successful Republican governor from a deep blue state who passed what has now become the blueprint for Obamacare, a shining example of a 100 plus year vision for Democratic Presidents. He stands in a class of his own, lost if you will.
This might sound impressive but you have to remember he is trying to capture the Presidential nomination of a party that , lets be honest, has been regressing in policy discussions for the better part of the Obama administration. (exhibit A).
They have been pursuing a public policy of, “well I am not that guy so vote for me”. This is an opportunity for Governor Romney to show he has the courage to lead, the fortitude to buck the ridiculous, and to lead the Republican party back from the abyss.
Romney should be proud of this work as Governor of Massachusettes, proud that he provides coverage for sick children, expecting mothers, and those who work for living but can’t afford basic coverage. Any politician would be proud of such an accomplishment. I guess though when leading critics in your party have said these things…
Former Governor Sarah Palin said:
“The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil,”
Radio Host Rush Limbaugh said:
“this is not about healthcare this is about wrecking and destroying the United States of America as we know it”
When these are the leading voices on health care reform it must be hard to be proud of anything as a member of THIS party.
