Shadowproof

Water, water. Everywhere. But not here.

I live in the desert.  We have had a dry winter, and water rationing is part of our lives.  We are told our water is running out.  It is.  Lack or loss of water is a problem in other places across the planet.

And yet the mid-west is drowning.  There is a loss of lives and a terrible loss of property.  Places are becoming uninhabitable because there is too much water.

We pipe oil.  We pipe gas.  There are reservoirs and lakes made by engineers.

I know nothing about how this is done, but I wonder why we don’t talk more about harvesting water when there is too much of it in one place and moving it to places where there is too little.

Is there anyone out there who knows why this is not discussed?  Is it not possible?
