Frankly I don’t think it will arrive until the majority of Americans realize that there is little difference between a millionaire/billionaire Democrat and a millionaire/billionaire Republican and then put two-and-two together and realize that these people control BOTH parties. Ok, if you want to quibble that the Democrats hand out crumbs while the Republicans want to take the entire cake, I’ll give you that much but no more.  By the way, if  you own Wall Street stock, I consider you as part of the problem.  The upper 1% (people like the Penis brothers and Betsy DeVos) could not do what they do without the assistance of a willing 10%.  Unfortunately all members of Congress belong to that class by virtue of the inflated salary of $174,000 plus that we pay them.  Unfortunately all the media pundits who deliver the propaganda for the upper 1% also are members of this elite 10% class.

In 2006 the American people replaced both houses with Democrats on a clear mandate to bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan no later than the end of 2008.  Instead, they not only continued to rubber stamp George Bush’s requests for unfunded military appropriations, they even voted to send 100,000 more of our troops over there. [Obama did bring 100,000 troops home in August of 2010, however, in case you don’t keep up with the shell shuffling of Washington, we currently have 50,000 troops in Iraq which happens to be the same number we had when the Democrats took over Congress in 2006.] Another way to put it is that the Democrats did nothing but maintain the status quo established by the Republicans.  They are just a bit more clever in making it look like they did something.

If you are wondering why, then look no further than their stock portfolios.

#3 The nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics calculated that 151 members of Congress (more than 25%) have up to $195 million invested in major defense contractors that are earning profits from the U.S. military occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. So if you wondered why our Nation continues to make war on other countries even though the majority of Americans are against it, you have your answer. The millionaires that we send to Congress profit from war. It is just that simple. No brain surgery required to get the connection.

To see the entire list, month by month, of the “Takes the 2010 Cake Awards”:  MORE

The other two awards for May of 2010 went to millionaire CEO of foreign oil giant BP, Tony Hayward who complained about the effect of the Deepwater Horizon disaster on his personal life, saying ?I would like my life back.  Considering that the offshore drilling explosion claimed 11 lives on April 20, and at that time had already spewed 20 to 100 million gallons of oil into the Gulf causing the deaths of at least 491 birds, 227 turtles and 27 mammals, including dolphins; Mr. Hayward’s gaffe may have been the PR blunder of the 21st Century–although I’m sure there will be many rich millionaire asses competing for the award.

The other “Takes the Cake Award” went to Rand Paul who declared that it is “un-American” for Americans to criticize business. Well that must have endeared him to Wall Street and garnered a few thousand dollars in his campaign contribution bucket. Rand Paul is a cheap imitation of his father—not at all the same level [Although I disagree with at least 50% of what his father represents as well]. But his son belongs to the filthy shallow waters where dullard bottom feeders like Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Christine O‘Donnell reside
