The death toll of the suicide bomber attack that targeted a police station during change of shift in Hilla has reached 30 dead and 75 wounded.

This is the second bombing in Hilla, within one week. Earlier this week a bomb targeting the parking facility in Hilla surgical hospital in the city killed six people and wounded seven others.

Local officials estimate a payload of 150Kg explosives an estimate I concur with based on crater depth and amount of structural damage.  There is media and political speculation that this was a revenge attack for the killing of Osama Bin Laden this speculation can be discounted. It takes far more time than a day or two to organise an attack of this scale.
