Call to Action: How the Tea Party can intelligently help CRUSH Teachers’ Unions

(This is a companion diary to How teachers could make Rush Limbaugh’s head explode, but chronically fail to. The idea is to prod teachers to step up to the plate, even if they have to be “dragged there, kicking and screaming”. I have urged teachers, and even non-teachers, to exercize their First Amendment rights to pass political messages to children on public sidewalks, after school. The end goal is to achieve a radical politicization of the American public, by which I mean “radically enhanced level”, not a radical politics. The only sense of radical politics that I’m pushing is “radically democratic”, with a small “d”.)

The Tea Parties have not been in the news so much, lately, though the representatives that they helped elect have. Indeed, the Tea Party supported representative are the primary force behind the imminent shutdown of the Federal Government.

So, partly to deflect any bad press the Tea Parties may get over the shutdown, and partly to reverse their declining public approval numbers, and partly because it’s never a good idea to demobilize between elections, as both the Democratic and Republican parties prefer that their bases do, I suggest the following.

The Tea Parties need to convey their political messages about the evils of teachers unions, as well as other, broader messages of fiscal responsiblity, true American values, etc., into homes that have been brainwashed by liberal media. They need to bypass the liberal, mainstream media, and what better way to do that than through America’s children? According to the US Constitution, we have something called a First Amendment that guarantees freedom of speech. Consequently, Tea Partiers are free to pass out political tracts to children on public sidewalks right after school. Children can not only get educated about what the Constitution really says, they can also take those messages home to their families, and from there, beyond into their families’ social networks.

Indeed, as Tea Party factions have, in the past, split their votes, allowing mainstream GOP’ers to remain entrenched in their positions, cooperating on this proposal to reach out to America’s school children could lead to real payoffs come the next election. Cooperative relationships already established from school pamphleting could be extended into the sphere of electoral cooperation! Tea Party factions will unite behind compromise Tea Party candidates – can’t you hear the sell-out RINO GOP’ers groaning, already? Can anybody say “Tea Party sweep in 2012?”

Tea Partiers have held lots of demonstrations, but there’s only so much that a slogan on a sign can convey and accomplish. And, unfortunately, it’s often not enough to counteract the brainwashing that Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann have inflicted on the public. How many times have we been called “racist”? When are you going to stop beating your wife?

Also, a huge numbers of Americans are apolitical. Half of us don’t vote! We need to reach out to the non-voters, before liberals completely wreck the country. We can’t afford ads that run during American Idol, be we CAN afford cheap pamphlets, which anybody can print from the comfort of their own homes.

We need to do more – much more – to educate Americans as to how badly we have deviated from the ideals of the Founding Fathers.
